The Emu Bay Railway in a day by Andy Becker

In the summer of 1991 an opportunistic meeting with an Emu Bay Railway driver at the Don River Railway resulted in an extraordinary trip down Tasmania’s West Coast. This talk will describe the events leading up to that trip as well as the day trip from Burnie to Primrose and return.
Fantastic people, trains and scenery in a nutshell !.

Newcastle Wallsend Coal Company railways

Well known railway and mining historian Ed Tonks will talk about the private railway system of the Newcastle Wallsend Coal Company situated near Newcastle, NSW. Location: Club Burwood RSL, 96 Shaftesbury Road, Burwood, in the ‘Private Room’, Brasserie Restaurant. Free parking in RSL car park. Only 10 minutes easy walk from Burwood railway station.

The SA Group generally holds its meetings on
the last Thursday of each odd month and any news of light rail matters – particularly in SA, NT and the Broken Hill area – is welcome. As accommodation is limited, interested persons should contact John Meredith at sa_group@lrrsa.org.au for details if you have not previously been to a meeting. A small and friendly group.
